What type of stuttering is this? I say um a lot before answering a question someone asks me and I will also keep repeating a sentence after someone asks me a question. For example, someone asked me what fragrance I was wearing today. I’m wearing “In The Stars” by Bath and Bodyworks. I couldn’t say that. I kept saying and repeating “um um I am wearing…um um um I am wearing… I just said stars by bath and bodyworks after repeating that 4-5 times. She asked if she had made me nervous and I said no you did not at all. For some reason I stutter more in front of certain people. I find that I stutter more around women for some reason. I am gay man by the way. I can say “Hey, how are you?” And many other short phrases just fine but when I know that I’ll have to say a few sentences, I’ll stutter depending on the question. I’ve always known I had a stutter. I don’t remember my stutter being very apparent as a child. Do you think social anxiety is a big factor in this type of stutter? What are your opinions?
