I disagree with comments suggesting you find new friends. I too have tried to talk about my stutter with some people in my life and they just don't understand, at least not completely. I think people are just taking speech as something trivial and it's hard for them to understand that someone just can't say something. However, that doesn't necessarily make them bad people. I understand why confronting them is just impossible, I was never able to do so either. I guess that's why someone made this stuttering group ;) The moment I joined this sub was the moment when I realized that my problems are not unique as I thought. There are many people who can relate and this 11k is just the top of the iceberg.
