Random Memory Sup guys! I was going through my yearbooks (since I'm bored af at home these days) and I came a class picture from grade 8. Thought I'd share something which was terrifying and embarrassing as hell back then, but in hindsight 10 years later, its pretty funny. Maybe it'll give you a laugh too. My class was down at the library for a presentation on high school boundaries (basically if you lived in a certain zone, that would determine what high school you went to, and there were separate registration forms to fill out for each). I had a question about what form I should be filling out, because I was moving at the end of summer. I raised my hand. Teacher picks me. "Yes?" I start talking. "I was just wondering what form I'd have to fill out because I'm going to be m- uh m-" ... jesus christ, I couldn't get the word "moving" out. So me in all my panic stricken grade 8 glory ended up saying, "I'm going to be shifting houses at the end of summer". I think that was the first time I consciously used a word substitution. Oh man, my face was so red I could have passed off as a tomato. Shifting houses!?!? Looking back though, it was pretty funny :) I know a lot of you are suffering during COVID, and so am I. But hang in there. 10 years from now you've going to look back and laugh.
