It is not my intent to be offensive to the neurodivergent community, nor it is my intent to call stutterers or myself neurodivergent. Thank you for letting me know. I will try to edit my post to better explain my thoughts. I suppose in reading about perspectives of neurodivergent folks, I saw some similarities in how stutterers are often treated with the medical model and the language seemed similar. It is true that we can and should learn from the movement without being a part of it. Again, if I have said anything offensive, please let me know so that I do not continue to be offensive or ableist.
