Worst: I’m 48 so cannot remember a single negative incident. Like others, I was bullied a lot through junior high so by the time I got to high school, I stopped talking completely. Best: I’ve told this story before - had to do a presentation to VPs and stuttered horribly. So wanted to run out of the room but I finished my presentation. Yeah, not a pleasant experience but years later, those same VPs knew me by name. That experience also helped me get the job I have now, which could not be a better fit. Prior to this job, I was in the same job for 13 years with a boss who had no desire to help me expand my skill set. This new job, everything is new and is just setting me up for more success down the road. TLDR: wouldn’t change a thing.
