I second this view, when I got to the age when I started to think about my career I did pretty much the same thing as everyone else and looked at what jobs related to the subjects that I liked in school! I say pretty much the same thing as I felt there were a few jobs probably not suited to people like us like a commentator or a doctor or another occupation where stakes are high and time is pressured, but that may just be me! In school my favourite subject was maths and I always wanted a job that involved numbers and now I'm working as an accountant. Some days I speak often and have meetings with colleagues and clients but most days I can just crack on with work and not need to speak to anyone. During my time in this job I've not had anyone mention my stutter in a negative way or treat me differently because of it.
