Calling people crazy is wild. But I get being frustrated with everything that comes with being a person who stutters. While being in power helps, it’s not everything. It doesn’t always translate into people understanding an issue or starting to think of it in a different and more positive way. There’s a lot of people who don’t care about things when it doesn’t affect them personally or they don’t know someone it affects. Information coming from someone they know can be a lot more effective. We can all vote for things that affect us positively and spreads the word, but you (and all of us) are the best and most educated on stuttering. Sharing with everyone you know and meet does a lot in changing perceptions. Every person you educate has the chance of spreading it to someone else, which increases the reach of getting that information to as many people as possible. The one thing that won’t work at all is not educating people.
