I still stutter sometimes, but I try my hardest not to let it beat me. I started out by doing a massive amount of reading. Amazon is a great place to start. Also, just through Googling I found some very old 1800's books on stuttering that really helped me out. You have to treat it like you are running a marathon. Don't believe that every method is the "cure". It more so a combination of different methods and you really have to try something until you find something that works for you. Then even after you find it you can't stop working on it the day it doesn't work for you. I kind of set up a challenge for myself to conquer the phone because it scared me the most. That's when the marathon mindset has to really come into place. Sure, I have had people hang up on me before because of the stuttering, but you can't let that get you down. To me it really has become like a mind game. You win the mind game and you win the battle.
