Debate Speaking Exercises and Warmup: Find a paragraph to read out loud, then: 1. Read through it and over-enunciate every sound (open your mouth big and exaggerate the pronunciation) 2. Read the text backwards (go as fast as you can) 3. Now read it normally, but insert "wow", or a word you get stuck on, between every single word in the paragraph (go as fast as you can) 4. Now read it normally and as fast as you can. When I say read it as fast as you can, you pressure yourself to speed read -- you will increase the number of disfluencies while reading. And even though for us stutterers it may be faster to read it in a controlled manner, read it with the intention of saying it as fast as possible. Note that these are practice drills so that normal speaking feels much easier and manageable.
