When I was in college, I was originally an engineering major and there was no foreign language class requirement. However, when I switched majors I was now subjected to taking multiple foreign language classes. To compound the issue further, I took latin in highschool and that language was not offered. When I discussed everything with my academic advisor, she was able to get me out of the foreign language requirement, citing the fact I stutter. Now I never mentioned my stutter (although very obvious), nor did I mention anything about me having issues with a foreign language. But I kept my mouth shut and let her do whatever she wanted. If I had to take those extra classes I wouldnt have graduated on time.
