In a pinch sure, but if you use it as a trick everytime you block it will generalize and gunk up your speech pattern even more than it already is. Just about all abnormal behaviors in our speech come from us trying to avoid stuttering. Stuttering, aka disfluency, in and of itself is not abnormal, it's simply a difference. But when you start doing things to try and avoid stuttering, that's when compounding the problem by introducing new abnormal behaviors ("tricks") only makes things worse.
