Barry's book is okay. That's the one my professors used during my masters degree. But I think there are better ones out there. I'm teaching a stuttering course now and I'm using Ken Logan's book, but I don't think that is exactly what you're looking for given your description of what Barry's book lacks. Not that you were asking for book recommendations, but you might try Walt Manning's book: Clinical Decision Making in Fluency Disorders. This is a text that is truly meant for practicing clinicians. I almost went with this book, but it didn't have enough of the epidemiological and phenomenological descriptions of stuttering that students need to truly understand stuttering before delving into treatment options.
