Hey! So I haven’t gotten rid of my stutter but it has definitely improve. I noticed that the stutter only gets worse when I completely isolate myself and don’t force myself to get out of my shell and vocalize things. My best advice is just get out of your comfort zone and just talk and talk and talk. It might be embarrassing or feel like you’ll rather die than talk but trust me it gets better. I have a big presentation taking place in a couple weeks from now with over 200 people on my zoom meeting and I’m freaking out about it, but I’m gonna take my own advice. What I noticed from other stutterers it never really goes away completely, it’s just how you manage it. My mom used to have a bad stutter but she says it got better when she build up her confidence and stop focusing so much on talking, she says it sometimes comes out when she is nervous. My patient’s husband, who is 84 year old, said that he couldn’t talk until he was 30 cause of how much he stutter, he said that once he got his own company and gain his confidence his stutter went away. However, because I stutter I study everyone’s fluency/speech closely and I noticed that sometimes he stumbles in some words but he quickly changes them around.
