I used to have social anxiety due to my stutter too. I know how that feels when you are so shy that you can’t make any contact with new people. Hence, you may appear as aloof, ignorant, boring or awkward. Well, I would say I started making changes and I’m not so anxious about meeting people because : 1. Even though I was scared I still went to the events. Yeah, it feels awkward, you worry, your fingers start twitching when you shake hands with someone and etc, but you gotta do it anyway. Relax. In a group of people be yourself, don’t dwell into your fears that much. 2. I decided to live in my own rhythm. I mean, I speak with a speed I want, I answer questions how I want, with an intonation I prefer, I take as much time for a respond as I want. I would say, be a bit more narcissistic ( in a good way). We stutterers often try to blend into this society, doing everything “to be a normal person”, but it’s senseless . You’re unique and you’re a king in your own fashion :)
