I agree with faking one’s confidence and seeing oneself as superior (or at least not inferior) for the sake of easing the anxiety. It explains why we have the hardest time with authority figures. We simply shouldn’t see them as such and voila, half the anxiety is gone. I also highly recommend the Lovett Method. It has done wonders for countless people and continues to improve my speech, especially with the concept of avoiding stutter incidents and building fluency memories by reading aloud.
