Thanks for commenting! Yes I laughed at the comments, didn't even register in mind mind that I was laughing at her disability particularly. Let's say I did; I don't fully understand why laughing at the way she sounds is horrible. I feel that IRL, laughing in front or behind the person would be horrible to do, both as the giving and receiving end. > What the hell makes it humorous? That's like saying "Her skin color was so dark and so funny that it was completely natural and okay to laugh at and not disrespectful" This kind of normalizing is what is so damaging, especially coming from a stutterer. With this line it makes it incredibly easy to see your point, and I think this should be the norm, yes? The common sense, as a fellow stutterer. To me it was humorous, I can't really explain why. Some people like fart jokes even as adults, and I find it disgusting. I will edit the above post once more, but I'm making it clear that I have always acknowledged it could be disrespectful to her as with Valor_Bot said, consent is what's important. Just imagining me in Joacine's situation is truly hard, yet it seems something straight out of a nightmare, but I have to admit that even though it makes me a hypocrite I don't feel bad for laughing because the comments, or the situation itself, was funny to me. That's how YouTube works. It can be indeed damaging and I would hope the world didn't have these kinds of things, but as I'm realizing here I may have a skewed view of morality regarding humor. As for other things, I completely agree. Perhaps I sound like a monster to you because I completely isolate YouTube comments from reality, as this would never happen IRL. If taken out of context it can have tremendous repercussions. Maybe I'll change my view on this later and will update it here if the post is still up. Guess I will be "growing up" :')
