I don't really know much (if anything) about hypnotherapy, but do you mean a couple sessions to probe your subconscious and try to eliminate potential trauma that may incite a stutter? Do you mean something else, like you practicing being able to fire up your emotions to speak better? For the first type of hypnotherapy, I think it's worth a shot. That being said, I don't envision it curing everything, as I think the idea that most stutterers only stutter because some past traumatic event is ludicrous. Nevertheless, I don't see how it could worsen your situation, so if you can afford it, why not? For the second type, I don't think it's a great idea. Do you want to force yourself to be emotional just to speak better? That seems quite unhealthy and not a fantastic way to live life. Also, and of course this is just my $0.02, I wouldn't recommend relying on substances to speak better. Similarly to the emotions thing, you shouldn't need to be in an abnormal state to speak better. Just practice techniques you learn in speech therapy (which I definitely recommend) that can help with virtually every interaction. Good luck, and if you want to clarify what you mean by hypnosis therapy, I'm happy to respond.
