I just finished college two month ago. I got my first interview 3 weeks ago. It was the first professional interview I ever do. It was in English (which is my second language). I got straight up rejected because of my stutter. The interviewer told me that it won't work out given that I will be speaking and reporting to managers a lot. I got devastated, but not so much because I was expecting it. She even told me to go to a speech therapist and call her again when my speech gets improved😂. I had three other interviews, they were all in my native language, they were exponentially better than the one in English. one of the interviewers asked me why I was so nervous, the security man I asked for directions to the hr office told me why i was so nervous, the guy i was sitting with in the waiting room asked me why i was so nervous. See here? This is the problem, that people mistake you for a nervous and anxious person when really you are just not. I had some blocks during the interviews, and I felt the confused looks on every single one of the interviewers, I don't know if i'm being paranoid but everytime i reflect back on them I can really see it.
