Oh yeah, I know those feelings all too well and I'm glad you have supporting friends and made great improvements. Also, I'm pretty sure everything around stuttering is psychological. I've been mocked and laughed at quite often in school and outside which obviously destroyed my self-confidence and sense of self-worth and I started downgrading myself for being such a piece of trash for not even being able to say my name. In school presentations, it always helped me to just look at my friends, making myself believe I'm only talking to my best friend(s) instead of the whole class. Speech therapy helped me improve but I still didn't feel remotely comfortable talking at all. I was just massively lacking self-confidence. In the past couple months, I finally learned to stand up for myself and love who I am and I am even close to being proud to stutter. No one can see your stutter and what you have to deal with. You are stronger and tougher than you think because you are still standing in this battle. Learn to love yourself unconditionally, this helped me a lot. Absolutely no one else can tell you how you feel or what you're going through. Talking is way more stressful and exhausting with a stutter and those who don't stutter have no justified reason to talk you down for it. At this point, I think I'm looking forward to getting laughed at for my stuttering again because now I am ready to stand up for myself and yell at them who in the everliving fck they think they are for laughing at me. I wish you the strength to find this mindset as well because you have the best reasons and permission for it and my support. Hope this helps! :) End note: Yes, some people will think poorly of you because of your stutter but other people would think poorly of you even without your stutter, they'll find something else. You can't be liked by everyone, try not to achieve this as well. Love and accept yourself first.
