I was at a friends house for a sleep over in high school. Her family wanted to play a game, including her dad who had made comments about my speech in the past. Anyways, we were in the middle of playing Catchphrase and I had just had my turn giving the clues for the words. I was stuttering, but like, everyone there knew I had a stutter so I didn't think it was a big deal. He paused and said to his whole family "I think Haley should just guess the answers, not give clues because she has a stutter and it makes me uncomfortable". It was so awkward. My friends younger sister was like "Dad, you can't say that". And I just sat there because I was 15 years old and didn't know what to do. current day me would have just dipped out, on the sleepover. ugh! that shit definitely haunts me.
