I convinced myself I didn’t want kids for a long time because I stutter and didn’t want to pass it to my child. But I’m the only one who stutters in my family and my husband doesn’t stutter so there would be a decent chance they might not. I’m now pregnant with our first child and while I’m nervous about it, I’m happy I’m not letting the fear of it stop me from living the life I want. If our child does stutter we will get them the help they need. Plus I figure they’ll have someone (me) who understands what they’re going through which is more than I had.
