To tell potential employers or not to tell them

To tell potential employers or not to tell them I am a long time reader of this group, but this is my first time posting. I am 50 and female and I have scattered my whole life. Therapy and the methods they use, including the use of in ear devices ( echo, delayed echo, etc) have not helped at all. I am a health care professional who works in physical therapy. I was excellent at my job. I have spent the last 15 years homeschooling, supporting, and helping my son, who is on the autism spectrum, gain the skills and independence he needs to be successful and self-sufficient. He is in online high school now, working a part time job, and doing amazingly well. I am very proud of him. I am sending out resumes to return to work and I have 3 emails requesting phone interviews. My type of stutter is usually a full block. I hate phone interviews. I'm sure a lot of people here feel the same. I do much better with in person interviews. The question I have is this: Should I tell potential employers I have a stutter when I accept to the invitation for the phone interview? Or do I not tell them? I'm hoping to hear some people here who have had good reactions by letting people know ahead of time they stutter. I'm also interested in negative results, too. My husband thinks I should let them know. Part of me agrees with him, but part of me worries potential employers will get a negative impression of me before the interview even starts. Thank you in advance to anyone who shares their thoughts and experiences.
