Only thing I can think of with my marriage is don't speak for him unless he asks you too. When my wife and I first started dating I had to clarify that for her. Part of my self treatment is just making sure I do the talking myself so it speaking anywhere doesn't become a big hurdle for me. Other than that I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you are really unsure just ask him about it. I'm sure if you guys are a solid couple he won't mind just saying what he wants.
