Navy Vet. I wouldn't classify my stutter as severe by any means, but it is there and people notice. So, I'm speaking from that point of view. You'll be just fine. Like RKJ said, there will be good and bad days. You'll get plenty of chances to communicate and practice as communication is required everywhere in the armed services. Be it in-person, phone, radio, and video. There will be situations where someone will need information from you, quickly. You'll learn from those moments that even though someone needs something from you, it helps everyone if you take your time and say the words or information in a steady and calm manner. Seek help while you're in as that is what I did. After my six years in, I still stutter and I've come to terms that it will always be a part of me but now I have some tools from therapy that I now carry with me to this very day. I actually have it posted on the door to my room right now. I also was hesitant going into boot-camp. But I believe you'll be alright. If you have anymore questions let me know.
