Everybody is different. The label is a means for people to feel included and help them understand the community and eventually understand their stutter more deeply. If you feel like using the label helps you, use it. If you feel like you're somewhere else, don't. That stance does not have to be fixed and permanent. Some days you may struggle and feel more like a proper "stutterer" and some other days you might be in your flow state and feel more like an imposter about it. That's okay. Everybody with a disability wrestles with how we identify with labels at one point, it's a natural thing. What matters most is remaining in kindness, both towards ourselves and towards those who might identify more strictly with specific labels.
