If you are asked to read out loud, I would try to focus on keeping a smooth flow of air and really focus on the document. Like try to pretend your reading to yourself, a dog, a kid - many stutterers don’t stutter to themselves or animals or small kids. Most stutterers don’t stutter when they sing or read with a group - maybe you can read with someone as silly as that may sound even if it’s just practice because getting into a rhythm or even just having that group Mentality might help. As much as I hate being told to slow down, it does work sometimes if I am going a mile a minute. Again, that could be something to try, slower reading and almost draaaging the sounds out and letting the words almost blend. Hope these can help. You’re not alone. My anxiety makes my stutter worse and my family and coworkers have all Commented that my stress level has a noticeable change to it too.
