I have nice stutter-related memories as well as bad ones. When I was a teenager I was going on a family holiday to Portugal. I was trying to tell my friend about it, but could feel that I was going to get stuck on the word Portugal so I kept it vague. "I'm going on holiday next week" "Oh? Where to?" "P-P... PPPPORTU-" No matter how many times I tried I couldn't finish the word, but because it was with someone I knew very well I didn't feel ashamed or embarrassed. It was funny. It became an inside joke and we still reference it 20 years later 🙂
