hey friend, i do this a lot too! my favorite filler word is “like” lol. the best advice i’ve gotten personally is to not be scared of saying the word you want to say. it’s much more daunting in your head than it actually is. what’s the worst that happens? you stutter on it, it’s awkward for maybe 1 or 2 seconds (if at all), and then the conversation continues. i’m no expert by any means (i still regularly use filler words). but these past couple months, i’ve noticed the benefits of holding eye contact and voluntarily saying what i want to say instead of working around it to seem “more fluent” or whatever. enunciating and speaking softer/slower has helped me a little with gaining the confidence to say the word my brain is telling me i’ll stutter on (likely because i’ve stuttered on it before). hope that helps!
