I get what you saying, if you say it in a kind of cool jokingly way, not an apologetic way. I hope you will try it as it works always for me, don't get me wrong, it doesn't remove the stammer completely but it's more acceptable. And when I do stammer , I smile and say "you see, I told you" them every one sort of laugh and I continue.
