You're pretty much forced to choose whether you want to attempt to hide your stutter or, as I'd suggest, disclose it and overcommunicate in other ways. Prove that you have command over your situation. My example in demonstrating it was sending that follow-up email, but I also made heavy use of visual aids and diagrams which are useful in general for those sorts of technical problems. The thing is, it's not just about stuttering vs fluency. There's an entire spectrum of effectiveness of communication for fluent speakers and the majority of people are not very good at it. Online dating - inefficiency. It takes forever to find someone worth talking to (and whose interests aren't travel, food, and disney) and most conversations are generally uninteresting. I think it's the result of too many messages being sent in general. No one has time to be polite or thoughtful unless they're given a prior reason to be attracted to someone, and I generally don't feel that way about strangers.
