The speech issues and swallow/breathing issues may not be related to each other. Regarding the swallowing/breathing issues, do you have any other diagnosed conditions? GERD? Sleep apnea? I suggest that you see an ENT who can scope you to look at your breathing and swallowing. It could be vocal fold dysfunction, but you may need to be scoped and/or to see a speech pathologist who specializes in swallowing/voice to be evaluated. How long have the speech issues been going on?
