The biggest thing about speech therapy isn't necessarily the fluency aspect. For me, speech therapy was always about my self confidence and becoming indifferent to the idea of stuttering. How does she feel about her stuttering? Does she feel the same way you did many years ago? As for school, ask if your school district has a speech pathologist and try to get a plan that can helper her while she is at school. I am 16 and I have a plan through my school district that gives me more time for presentations and things like that.
