I am 77f who stutters since childhood. Depression has been my companion. Although my life has been happy and fulfilling, the specter of this disability has haunted me. My marriage was to a wonderful professional man allowing me to not have to compete in my field of mental health. I always considered this fortuitous. My role of wife and mother was not compromised by my mild-moderate stuttering. Nevertheless, I have suffered from bipolar 2 disorder being depressed throughout my life. I always wondered to what extent my stuttering, its frustration, has precipitated my depression.
