It's up to you of course. Also, while eliminate isn't the right word, speech therapy can reduce stuttering in people to the point where it's imperceptable. And yes, it actually does to take a lot of work. You have to change the way you speak. Ofc, it won't work for everyone though. I at least can personally say that my stutter has lessened significantly, although kt definitely isn't gone. Personally, I don't think "I was born this way" is something that applies here either. It hurts to think about it, but there is something different and disfunctional with the way I am. I have trouble with basic communication, there's no getting around the fact that that's a basic function of being human. We can say "Oh people should just wait for me to finish" but things like jokes, telling a story, even good conversation is all about timing. And I obv don't have that as a stutterer. And I know that the literature says certain things can reduce stuttering instances, even if they can't cure it. But if even reducing stuttering somewhat will improve my quality of life, I'm all for it.
