When I was 16 and in school I had a severe stutter. I did not dare to pick up the phone or talk to people. At the end of the school year I had to do a book presentation for my exam and I was nervous the whole year. My parents knew this and we talked about and it and decided to go to speech therapy which taught me a number of things: 1: breath with your belly not your chest. 2: you know which letters/ words are difficult. Try to “not say” or “sing” the first letters or word. 3: DO NOT GIVE A F*CK ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF YOUR STUTTER. I am now 46. I’m a sales manager managing a team of 18 people and, according to my wife, I have to talk all day. A few times per year I give presentations to groups of 50-70 people and when I was young I never imagined would do this. I apply the above rules each and every day and I still have a small stutter from time to time. In the beginning the first 2 rules helped me a lot. Later in life rule number 3 has become more and more important. Hang in there buddy. If you did not go to therapy I would advice you to do this. There are a lot of different kinds and you might have to look for one that suits you. Good luck!
