I think it's problematic to assume we have a "real" version. We behave in many different ways in many different situations, because that's what social interaction tends to be like. Rather, you should try identifying what it is you're doing (or _not_ doing) when you experience fluency. Also, don't expect your method to be flawless. Stutter varies a lot, and what we once found to be efficient might not be at a later time. But it's great you've found something that works for you. Now the interesting thing will be to figure if you can utilize it in general.
