I get that train of thought from an evolutionary standpoint. Being patient is great. Being supportive is better. Being supportive is helping solve problems and move forward, like using techniques or whatever is being worked on at the time. Being patient without any go-forward solutions is enabling. Obviously case by case and my opinion. My parents were very patient/kind, but did nothing in terms of solutions. They thought I’d grow out of it.
