There’s more to all of us than the fact that we stutter. I bet some of you are hilarious, wicked smart, amazing chess players, runners, skiers, chefs, a loyal friend, avid readers, movie critics, animals lovers, amazing gamers, sisters, brothers, etc. When I was a little kid, my stutter was bad. I eventually developed other aspects of myself - sense of humour, athletics, friendships, etc. My pers eventually stopped focusing on the fact that I had a stutter and more on other aspects of my personality. Ultimately, this improved my self-esteem and confidence and I had less anxiety and fear around my speech and life seemed to improve for me. I still have my days, but I choose not to let my stutter hold me captive. Now I see stuttering as just a part of my life that makes me special and gives me strength.
