Mid-sentence pauses

Mid-sentence pauses Hi everyone, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this; I just couldn't find anywhere else and feel like the people here would have the best advice. I don't stutter but I have been told by multiple people that I do a lot of "mid-sentence pauses/breaks". This is where I pause for a longer period of time than normal at random/awkward placed in my sentences. It think it's very noticeable and frustrating for the people I'm talking to, that my pace is slower and I'm not finishing my thoughts quickly. I don't know why this happens exactly; it just feels like I'm struggling to come up with the right words. My question is: **Are there any specific exercises that I can do to overcome this?** Here are a couple things I plan on doing: 1. Take slightly more time to fully form my thought and think about the structure of my sentence and the keywords in them before I start it. In theory, this will make the pauses between sentences longer, and reduce the pauses in the middle of them. 2. Try really hard to focus on the sentence and conversation on hand rather than being distracted. Please let me know what you all think! Thanks!
