I remember jobs when answering with a script was mandatory- no word changing or editing. I got in trouble at one restaurant job for major word changing. I didn't have the stones to say: "you know how bad I stutter and I'm overwhelmed." I got courage and control later. The single biggest challenge for me was having to use an intercom in a 4 story hospital. EVERYONE in the building heard me. Obviously calling a CODE BLUE does not permit word changing. The funny thing is this: I am an SLP and stutters on the intercom may have invited "is that the SLP? they'll hire anyone!" :)
