I graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree 20 years ago. I did engineering work out of college and ended up in the software development field. Started my own company 9 years ago and now employ/manage 16 people. Engineering (or software development) is a great field for somebody like you and me who stutters. I would never have made it as a politician, salesperson or any job where I was judged on my speaking skills. But engineers are judged on their technical ability (most of which can be done through email, documents, etc). In fact I've found that people are a little skeptical of engineers who speak too well. :-)
