Ah, yes, I see. A matter of potential - time better spent elsewhere. I can follow that. My own paraphrasing went something like: If you imagine a different version of you, you're essentially destroying the real you in favor of this imagined one. Like, you're hooking on to the illusion instead of your real self - shifting your feelings to the dream, and destroying your real relation to yourself in the process (or at least to the extent that you maintain the dream, and at least likely not without emotional ramifications).
