I moved ten hours away from home after undergrad with the plan of going by another name that is easier to say. Within two months I started to stutter when using that name too. Even had a situation where, before I brought a friend back home to visit, I had to explain why I introduced myself with a different name. It isn't worth it, I promise. The relief I felt from not stuttering when introducing myself was slowly masked with the shame of letting my stutter get the best of me after all.
