> Did you try using what you learnt in the military in normal everyday conversations, albeit with just lower voice volume? What would be the difference between the two? Nah, I wouldn't recommend speaking with your diaphragm. It's great for projection & volume, but would be odd in normal conversation. I have found diaphragmatic breathing to be helpful though. > How did that go? Getting into the space force. I had already been in the Air Force for 14 years at that point, so transferring was a very different process compared to a civilian initially enlisting like you described. Not long after the USSF stood up, there was a call out for interested personnel from specific career fields within the USAF to apply for transfer into the USSF. I was in one of those career fields (3D0X2), put my application together (last several annual performance evaluations, letters of recommendation, etc.), & submitted it to the board for judging. Thankfully I was notified of my selection a few months later & transferred not long after.
