Yes, the ADA. Yes, it probably was your stutter. But can you prove it? I’ve thought about going down this road a couple times in my professional career, but in the end I never have because I know it would be very hard to prove that I was discriminated against because of my stutter. I’d say unless you have it in writing that it was your stutter or someone on the board that denied you is willing to testify in your favor — they can easily just say there were many candidates and even though you’re top of your class, they went another direction for no reason having to do with your stutter. If you pursue litigation — your goal needs to be a very large settlement. Enough money to counterbalance being black balled in your professional career by the doctors, at what you said, was the best hospital in the area. It’s a shitty situation, it’s not fair, talk to a lawyer, but in the end, I’d hard pass.
