I think it depends on the person and the level of stuttering severity and whether it would play a role in your job. I've always checked "No" on applications but during phone interviews where my dysfluency is exacerbated I let the interviewer know that I'm a person who stutters so they don't think there is an issue with the phone connection or that in general I have a few more pauses in my speech than normal but that it doesn't impact my ability to do the job. Also, I check "No" because I want to earn a job based on merit/qualifications and not because a company is trying to meet some quota for people with disabilities. Of course, these two things are not necessarily mutually exclusive. The person with a stutter could likely be the best person for the job AND just happen to have a disability. So I don't blame a PWS for checking "Yes" on applications. But in general, I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. Hope that helps!
