I think I understand why people are confused about your question, but I think I understand what you're saying in a sense. It sounds like your upbringing played a big factor in anxiety you have around social situations and talking to people. The fact you were born with a stutter, that plays into your anxiety, which makes the stutter worse. I would say everyone who has anxiety notices their stutter is much worse when they're in a high anxiety situation. Plus, if you had a bad relationship with your parents, you would stutter more around them because you're uncomfortable around them. I have this issue. I'm not sure exactly what the 'chummy' thought is about - perhaps if you meet another stutter, people can feel an instant connection to them, and start to talk to them about more personal things? I hope I was able to help at least a little bit!!
