> I've been in speech therapy almost all my life so I know alot of different strategies on handling blocks but lately it seems like nothing works. May I ask, how many different therapists / programs have you tried? Not all therapy is equal. My advice is typically speech therapy. If you're not seeing improvement with the therapy you've received, I am inclined to suggest that you try something different. Now, if you tell us that you've been through 15 different programs, then I'd say you've tried it all. Therapy comes in many different flavors. At one end, you have public school therapy, which I find to be detrimental. Mainly due to its inadequacy, resulting in a negative perception of therapy. At the other end is speech therapy with an SLP who specializes in stuttering. In my case, they didn't teach techniques to deal with blocks. They taught me fluent speech.
