Content
I have a couple suggestions. However most of the have to deal with content and not formatting. So, this may be up to the mods to decide. But I think good content it one of the best ways to increase the number of people who buy in to the subreddit. 1) I think the option to mark posts within a set of subcategories would be excellent. Similar to how [r/askscience] (http://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/) manages it's postings. I don't think r/stutter needs to have guidelines that are as strict as r/askscience. Maybe categories including: question about stuttering; discuss stuttering; ask advice; success story; stuttering in popular press ... etc 2) I think a page describing the features of stuttering would be helpful. Sort of a "this is stuttering" article. I think it would be helpful given that people who do not know about stuttering may seek information about stuttering here. In my mind this includes a brief description of the disorder of stuttering, incidence, prevalence, recovery rates, gender ratio, and a brief synopses of the science of studying stuttering (but I'm biased, given that's what I do). In addition, this should have a brief overview of types of treatment, with links to ASHA, NSA, NSF, FRIENDS, Michael Palin Centre, Institute on Stuttering Treatment and Research, Australian Stuttering Research Centre (I'm sure there are more to include). 3) a "what do I do when someone stutters" page would be helpful--again, given that people may come here seeking advice. 4) A personal touch might be nice--so a collection of our personal experiences with stuttering. Simply a collection of autobiographical posts that highlight the poster's experiencing managing stuttering. 5) Advice for parents of youngsters who stutter. i'm sure there are more ideas.
