I studied political science and had to give a lot of speeches to get my degree. It actually helped that I stuttered because it helps me be more creative when writing. I would imagine a stutter not being a hinderance for an engineer, since engineering is more results based and not language based. I’ve been having trouble getting work in my “field” because I find it exhausting to be as social as political work requires me to be, but it’s never held me back from acquiring a job. And if you are denied a job from a firm because they think your stutter makes you less worthy of the job in some way, the it’s best you don’t work for that firm anyway. I’ve found that good people won’t care that you stutter and will understand that some people have weird shit wrong with them but it doesn’t make them any less of a human.
